동아시아 건축의 코어코드를 간결하고도 미려하게 풀어낸

 

일본의 ‘토리이’에서 영감을 얻어,

 

천년이 지나도 견디는 그 견고한 구조를 작은 가구로 옮겨왔습니다.

 

 

 

 

 

토리이의 가로지르기 보와 지면에 뿌리내린 듯한 사선다리의 안정적 형태를 가구 언어로 이식하여

 

사람의 무게를 받치는 의자 본연의 기능을 가장 단단히 수행하기 위해 디자인되었습니다.

 

 

 

 

Inspired by the Japanese ‘Torii’, which elegantly captures the core essence of East Asian architecture, I have translated its millenia-enduring structural integrity into a small piece of furniture.

By transplanting the stability of the Torii’s crossbeams and diagonal legs—which appear rooted firmly in the earth—into the language of furniture, this piece is designed to fulfill a chair’s fundamental purpose: supporting human weight with absolute steadfastness.
