Tri-pot Base

Tri-pot Base는 화분(pot)받침이나 다기(pot)를 받치는 차탁의 역할을 하도록 디자인하였습니다.  그 외에도 좌식생활의 낮은 위치에서 저상침대의 협탁이나 여러가지 일상의 물건을 받쳐주는 부주제로서의 역할에 집중한 제품입니다.

base라는 이름 그대로 묵직한 하드메이플을 가공하여 실제적/시각적 안정감을 구현 하여, 어떤 것이든 그 위에 안정적으로 머물 수 있게 돕는 단단한 기초가 되어줍니다.

동양의 좌식 문화에서 영감을 얻은 이 제품은 입식의 스툴보다 낮은 200mm의 높이로 제작되었습니다. 이 낮은 시선은 사용자의 공간과 상황에 맞춰 찻상이 되기도 하고 화분 받침이 되기도 하며 유연하게 녹아듭니다.

상판 하단에는 옻칠의 깊은 색감을 표현해 동아시아적 정체성을 담았습니다. 이는 동양적인 미감을 보여줌과 동시에 시각적인 무게중심을 잡아주는 역할을 합니다.

구조적으로는 네 개의 다리보다 안정적인 삼발(Tri-pod) 형태를 채택했습니다.

정확하게 등변삼각 대칭을 이루지만 다리 정면/입면 지점을 제외하고는 어느 방향에서 보아도 대칭으로 보이지 않는 것이 이 제품의 가장 큰 외형 특징입니다.

이것은 정적인 공간에 은은한 긴장감과 품위있는 생동감을 동시에 선사할 것입니다.

The Tri-pot Base is designed to serve as a stand for flower pots or as a tea table for supporting teapots. Beyond these specific uses, it is a product focused on its role as a “sub-theme,” supporting various everyday objects within the low-profile context of floor-seated living.

True to its name, “Base,” it is crafted from heavy hard maple to realize both physical and visual stability, providing a solid foundation that helps any object stay securely in place.

Inspired by Eastern floor-seated culture, this product is crafted at a height of 200mm, which is lower than a standard Western-style stool. This low perspective allows it to blend flexibly into the user’s space and situation, serving as a tea table or a plant stand as needed.

The lower part of the top expresses the deep colors of lacquerware (ottchil), embodying an East Asian identity. This reflects an Oriental aesthetic while simultaneously serving to anchor the visual center of gravity.

Structurally, it adopts a tripod (Tri-pod) form, which is more stable than a four-legged structure. Although it achieves precise equilateral triangular symmetry, the most prominent external feature is that it does not appear symmetrical from any direction, except when viewed directly from the front or elevation of a leg.

This will provide a subtle sense of tension and a dignified vitality within a static space.
